So here I am, sitting in a relative’s chalet just off the slopes of Verbier, sipping some hot chocolate while I reflect on the week of SIHH 2015 that has just passed. I had almost forgotten about the havoc wreaked by the Swiss National Bank’s announcement the prior week, and how the outlook for the watch industry didn’t look so great this year. You certainly couldn’t tell given the number of new releases by the sixteen brands at the annual exhibition.
It’s always difficult to pick just a handful of watches, but as always, some pieces speak to us more than others.
So, without further ado, here are the 10 watches that spoke to me most during the 25th edition of SIHH 2015 that took place last week, in alphabetical order:
A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept RD#1
Greubel Forsey x Philippe Dufour “Naissance d’une Montre”
IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar
Jaeger LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Celestial
Montblanc Villeret Tourbillon Cylindrique Geosphères Vasco da Gama
Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda 1950 Squelette
Piaget Altiplano Chronograph
Richard Mille RM 19-02 Tourbillon Fleur
Vacheron Constantin Harmony Chronograph
You can look forward to my individual reviews of each of the aforementioned pieces, as well as a number of others from the show.
I’ll also be sharing my “Top 10” picks from brands that were exhibiting in Geneva at the same time.
