amr sindi the horophile about

Welcome to The Horophile, a blog about watches from the heart of Switzerland.

Whether it’s newly turned watch-lovers or veteran “watch nerds”, we try and make sure that our content can by enjoyed by everyone.

Oh, and just in case you’re wondering where the name comes from, a “horophile” is a person who has an obsession with timekeeping devices and chronometry in general. So, if you’ve stumbled upon this blog, it’s highly likely that you’re a horophile too!

About the Author:

“What started as childhood fascination has turned into a full-time occupation. I am Amr Sindi, a young Saudi Arabian born to a family of horophiles. My own initiation into the magical world of horology was at 5 years old, when I received a Flik Flak from my grandmother upon her return from a trip to Switzerland. It’s been a burning passion ever since.”

Amr began sharing his passion for watches  and building his knowledge of watchmaking on www.timezone.com, where he became the youngest moderator on the site’s history and still remains a moderator today.

Through his professional experience within the watch industry in Switzerland, Amr aims to bring in-depth content straight from the source.
